The Fractured Balance

Hey everybody, N here! So ... it's over.

I never in a million years would have expected the response we got. The fact that 54 friggen awesome amazing people wanted to read our second book (and a lot of you wanted both!!) is ... incomprehensible to me. So thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for taking the chance on us and supporting us, and I truly hope you find your next favorite book here.

So what happens now?

The pre-order store is up. Payments should be slowly processing. I'm still trying to figure out a timeline for the surveys and stuff like that but I'll update when I know more. (Shouldn't be more than a couple weeks, realistically)

I can give you updates on fulfillment right now, though! The new-and-improved version of Everdark has a proof shipped that will probably show up today. The Fractured Balance needs some final tweaks to its cover, and some behind-the-curtain nitty-gritty publishing stuff still needs to be completed. I will probably have a proof of it in my hot little hand as early as the week after next! I'll make sure to share pictures when I have them!

The two things that will probably take the longest are the metal bookmarks and the hardcovers. So for those of you who wanted those, I ask your patience. If you wanted just a paperback or an ebook, fulfillment should happen quickly; I'm going to say, right now, late Oct, early Nov for the paperbacks and sooner for the ebooks.

But as with anything, I'll keep you all updated.

Finally; today is my partner A's birthday (the "A" in "N.A. Soleil") and the best present you could give them would be to take a gander at our pre-order store or share the word. Pheonix is their character; though I solely put the words-to-word-processor and helped them flesh everything out, a large part of The Fractured Balance is their story. Though their severe mental illness keeps them from interacting, I tell them everything, and they would be so happy to know that people like Pheonix and want to read his story.

I'll also have a really exciting announcement to make pretty soon, so stay tuned for that!

Hello everyone, got a couple new things to talk about!

First of all, the Pheonix bookmarks (the stretch goal you awesome folks unlocked at $650) are now available as an addon! These will be thin metallic bookmarks, 8" by 2", and feature an etched design of the swords of Justice. Malol and Bedaestael.



Here's a paper mockup I did to show the approximate size and what it would look like inside your book.


There's actually a couple of new addons (including the TFB ebook, hardcover, and extra paperback!) so it's worth moseying over to browse one last time before the campaign ends.

Hello everyone!

Welp. It's been a wild 24 hours.

First I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for believing in Pheonix's story -- and a lot of you want to read Everdark, too, which is SO cool to see. We're disabled solo creators, so your support literally means the world to us.

Okay! Sappy stuff over! Update time!

I'm beyond blown away that we funded almost immediately (I was honestly not expecting that) and blew through our first two stretch goals. That means that the TFB hardcovers are now available for purchase as an addon! Remember that you can always edit your pledge if something we unlock piques your interest.

Secondly, I'll be putting a poll up here shortly so you all can help me decide on what design we want to use for the Pheonix bookmarks! The bookmark we offer with Everdark was meant to represent Redd's journey throughout that novel, so naturally this one will reflect Pheonix's journey in TFB. So of course, because Pheonix is such a complicated fellow, I have altogether too many ideas on what to do and could really use the assistance in whittling them down.

I didn't really think we'd get here so I don't really have any other stretch goals concretely planned, so if you have any suggestions for things you'd like to see (fancier hardcovers, Everdark hardcovers, more swag like pins or prints), leave a comment!

The only solid stretch goal I would be absolutely stoked to hit would be at about $3k, because then we could hire a VA to do an audiobook. But for now I'll keep that close to my heart and if we happen to get closer to it, I'll do a more official update about what that would look like later.
